Hazy orange-yellow color, with small steady beige head. Aroma is yeasty, slightly citrusy-fruity with hints of spices and cardboard. Crisp carbonated mouthfeel. Very citrusy and acidy flavor. Long citrusy aftertaste with yeasty notes. This is really acidy tripel.

2004 bottle at the downtown liquors Trippel tasting, 3/24/05. Lightly cloudy, soft, golden-yelow body with a medium sized white head and only minimal retention. Aroma has notes of meaty, bordering on vegetal, yeastiness and heavily boiled, old hops. Faint notes of coriander are the only bitter aspect I find in the aroma, which is mainly a lightly astringent, dusty, meaty yeast, with some light caramelized sugar or caravienne malt. Very odd aroma, all told, no perfuminess, or citrus fruits. Upon first taste, it’s way too carbonated and the body seems weak and broken apart. Spicy yeast, slight malt sweetness on the end and a high alcohol apparency, which is strange, as this is the lowest abv we tried of all the trippels present. Finishes too dry from the alcohol and has a strange, almost cardboard-like flavor. Seems old and tired. A sample an hour later, after it had breathed, proved to be much more entertaining. Gone was the horribly interuptive carbonation, and in its place was a chewy, fairly substantial caramel malt, with light cream notes and more lemon and coriander on the end. A bit of dough and not as much of the off-flavors of veggies and cardboard.

Semi-dark brown. White head, big, lasting bubbles. Smells of yeast and a little bit fruity. Rich and dry taste. No big aftertaste, but a hint of candy/bubblegum. Also slight metallic aftertaste?

Dull orangey brown beer with a shallow frothy head. Very strong alcoholic aroma, with a very strong bitter flavour and a banana tasting finishing. A strange beer, initially strong tasting but finishing very sweetly.

Nose of coriandre, citruspeel, yeast (yeast in suspension), cheesey. Taste: malts, backlying bitterness, not outspoken, neither hoppy. What sweetness there is seems to refer to white crystal sugar(syrup) or caramel. overall rather neutral but well-balanced. Warming alcohol effect despite relative low ABV. Tasted example called CuvΓ©e 2002 in 75cl bottle, rather than usual 33cl. No indication of difference.

Golden color, big head. Sweet malt aroma, quite fruity, white sugar. Some malt and hop, good body strength, some alcohol; not impressive.
