4 Origins Knightmare Pumpkin Porter (R) Pitch black with a roasty chocolate aroma. Medium bodied with roast chocolate syrup notes with a tiny hint of spices. OK

On tap at 4 Origines, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Nose brings out toasted malt from the porter base, accentuated by nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavour is much the same, with nutmeg and cinnamon upfront, atop a moderately toasty malt base. If you're gonna use pumpkin spices, it's a good idea to put them in a sturdier beer like this. I'm still not a huge fan of this style, but this is a decent example of it.

A deep dark porter with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light pumpkin pie spices, cinnamon, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light frankincense, ginger, cinnamon, coffee grind, musty character, pleasant. Nov 2019 A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with pumpkin spices, light cloves, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, pumpkin spices, light mineral notes, pleasant.
