50cl can. Very light golden/green colour without head. Aroma is pear. Flavour is pear with chemical notes. Carbonation is medium. Body is light.

500ml bottle. Pours a very pale white lemon with little carbonation. Aroma is sweet, some pear, just overly sugary. Taste is a sugar overload. Some pear pops in in the middle, then a bubblegum aftertaste. I’m glad it only cost 36p. Bargain.

[Bottle at Tremenheere (JDW), Penzance] My brother (who is normally a real ale drinker) has always said he loves this stuff, so I decided to give it a go. This was a mistake. It pours virtually clear, and very fizzy. It’s exceptionally sweet and just tastes of watery pear drops and sugar. It leaves no aftertaste, which in the circumstances is a good thing. The only good point is that the high carbonation manages to stop it being too syrupy in the mouth. But then you have o put up with the fizziness instead, so it’s not that much of a good point. My brother later admitted that he only really liked it for the sugar rush when he was tired, and not for the flavour. This is definitely in the industrial alcopop market rather than the perry market. It’s dire.

0.5l can. Pours a clear straw yellow body with absofruitely no head. Sweet and sugary aroma with notes of pear and apples. Thin bodied, medium carbonated and has a really sticky texture. The sweetness from the body is enough to scare the dog away. My lord this has a lot of sugar in it! Sweet as the devil with notes of pears and apples. Has a longlasting yeasty and alcoholic aftertaste.

33 cl can. Very very light yellow with small diminishing white head. Flavour is very sweet, watery and pear.

Can. No head. Color is very pale yellow. Aroma and taste are pears and sugar. Quite artificial.

$2.95 green bottle at New Beer Distributors. Even before approaching the store’s ghetto glass divider, I knew this rate would be difficult. Listed as the third leading ingredient after water, 47 grams of sugar in this half liter bottle. Crazy Swedes. Poured into that same chipped & abused Allagash tulip. Garbage glassware. Clear pale, vibrant gold color. No head, even after an agitated pour. Smell is a horrid scent of candy banana Runts, urinal puck, & fresh sneakers. Wow. Tasting this is not something I’m looking forward to. ...Ouch. Pure white sugar, artificial banana, lemon-lime soda, & cancerous plastic additives. Big, harsh carbonation that just can’t thin out any obscenities. Terrible. Just horrid flavor. Swedish cider... what was I thinking?! I’d funnel three bottles of Babycham before even looking at this bottle again. An April Fool’s Bacardi mixer release at best. So revolting.
