Noire comme la nuit, la Kaliningrad affiche une belle mousse couleur café. Au nez on perçoit des arômes de prunes et de malts rôtis. En bouche, une texture vineuse et des notes de figues prennent la place. En finale, on perçoit l'amertume des grains rôtis et une légère touche de houblon. Houblon: Goldings, Fuggles et Saaz. La Kaliningrad est une stout impérale russe, un style de bière crée dans l’empire anglais pour l’exportation vers la Russie.

A deep dark stout with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with dark fruits, light peated notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. Bottle at Chambly 2025.

500mL bottle. Pours black with small beige head. Has a lovely roasted malt character. Coffee beans on the palate as well. Full-bodied. Excellent traditional imperial stout.

On tap at Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015. A black beer topped by a minimal dark beige head. Roasted aroma with dark chocolate and brown sugar. Some hints of licorice too. It’s full-bodied, quite dry and with a pleasant carbonation level. Roasted flavor with dark chocolate and licorice. Some bitterness too. Lasting roasted finish. Sure a nice one, although sort of one dimensional. 150611
