The famous Ringnes Pilsner was introduced to the market in 1886. This beer was among the first beers in Norway to be brewed with pure yeast. Ringnes Pilsner soon became popular and is today a best-selling beer in Norway.
Ringnes Pilsner is well balanced with a light hoppy and malty aroma. It has a beautiful golden colour with a full, yet dry mouthfeel. The taste has a light malt sweetness reminiscent of hay and straw, with a well-balanced, rich bitterness.

Bottle at home in London - big thanks to Katya for bringing this back from her holidays! Pours clear yellow, highly effervescent with a small, white foam head. Sweet cereal grains in the nose, hints of biscuits and straw. Light to medium sweet flavor, some dried grains, cereal, faint lemon and metal, low bitterness, some dry white bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Fairly crisp to finish, further dry cereal, mild hay bitterness. Not bad.

Got this at some bar: Basically, this is a boring and tasteless pale lager. Pours a light gold with barely any head. Aroma is grain. Taste is minimal. Hops are barely there. It is drinkable and thirst quenching, but Norway is pretty cold, so I don’t know how much utility there is to this.

Clear yellow gold color, small white head, solid lacing. Aroma of white pepper. Taste is eatery dilute straw. Indistinguishable from just about any othe pale lager.

Can at home. Clear straw-coloured with a small off-white head. Aromas of sweet corn, grass and hay. Pretty much the same in the mouth but feels a bit drier with a more grassy touch. Light and some watery mouthfeel, light bitterness. Not a horrible interpretation of a pilsener, but certainly not the best one from Norway.

It's a mediocre pils. Dark gold. Low to medium carbonation. On the malty side. Plain.

Can 330ml @ home
Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain and some apples? Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter with a kind of metallic finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
