Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin tan head. Aroma of light hops, some roasted malt and a touch of metal - not bad, but not very hoppy. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a touch of bright hop character then followed by a good roasty malt backbone. Aftertaste shows a bit of complexity with some light dryness, a little nut and earth character and some good hoppiness to finish it off. Overall, not such a bad beer, but not a great, standout Black IPA. Still, nice to try and enjoyable! I sampled this pint on draught at the Saint Bock Brewpub in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 04-December-2010.

A deep dark brown IPA with a thin lacing off white head. A light c-hops aroma with some burned wood notes. In mouth, a woody and coffee like IPA with some nice English hops, burned wood developping later, overall, a bit off and unbalanced. On tap at brewpub, April 23, 2010.
