bottle from the brewpub, i asked for it on tap cause it was on the wall menu but i was told it was only available in bottle. The menu stated it was 8%.
A sweet matly aroma, with a touch of hops. Some nice ripe fruit come out in the aroma, like figs, and maybe some plums. The flavour is very much an english style barley wine. Sweet malt, and english hops dominate this beer, a nice sipper.

A golden barley wine with a thick frothy dark off white head. In aroma, a rather lager like offering, with light fruity notes, light licorice, so-so aroma. In mouth, a nice and smooth ale with an oily mouthfeel, warming alcohol, light czech hopping, very subdued. Not bad, but not to my liking. 10$ for 500 ml bottle at the brewpub, Dec. 26 2009.
