Our Provenance beers are highly attenuated farmhouse ales brewed and fermented with winter citrus. The ingredients include Hill Country well water, malted barley, malted wheat, hops, brewer’s yeast, and native yeast and bacteria harvested from the land and air around our brewery. Orange & grapefruit zest was added late in the boil and juice from both fruits was added during fermentation. All of the citrus was grown locally at G&S Groves and sourced from Johnson’s Backyard Garden. Provenance — Orange & Grapefruit is 5.5% abv, 4.1 pH at the time of bottling, and has a finishing gravity of 1.003.

Aroma is a bit funky and poopy. The yeast notes slightly drown out the citrus fruit. Light citrus character allows more of the base beer to show through in the aroma. Pours a hazy, pale, yellow gold with a thin white head that recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is better than the aroma with quite a bit of fruit notes. Some light poopiness with a bit of yeast character. Moderate bitterness. Light malt notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but not as enjoyable as the lemon lime version. The aroma is a bit off while flavor is nice. Citrus adds a good tartness.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out loads of nasty chlorine - eww, gross. Flavour isn't as bad, but it does bring out chlorine, along with citrus zest. Something is terribly wrong here. Not drinkable.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow white head. Nose/taste of saison yeast, grapefruit, lemon peel and orange peel with lemongrass. Medium body.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a cloudy yellow with small frothy white head. The aroma is citrus, grapefruit pith, mineral. Thin mouthfeel with nice light tart citrus, funk, and nice light dryness. Very good.
