A strong Belgian saison spiced with cloves, tangerines and kaffir lime leaves. A well-balanced ale with a biscuity malt backbone, spicy aromatics and a subtle tartness.

Cask Days 2013.
Hazy yellow pour, small white head. Tropical fruit aroma, lime, and kiwi come through. Malts are sweet, and bready, wth some light yeasty esters. Finish was lightly bitter, with more tropical fruit, and some light tartness, with some solid lemon, and the alcohol is nowhere to be found. Nice stuff!

(750mL 2012 bottle from the brewery, cellared ~20mo) Pours a hazed dark brownish orange with a big pillowy white head that really lingers with lots of lace. Aroma of bready malt, slight banana ester, cloves, orange peel, and a tart slightly lemony sour mash note. Palate initially kind of sweet, bready, orange. Bit of tartness pops up in the middle, it’s no Berliner but there’s a hint of lemon to it. Some slightly sweet malt persists alongside to the finish, with orange peel and an herbal bitterness for some balance. Mouthfeel is medium full with soft and effervescent carb that is creamy on the tongue and spritzes on the top of the throat. Drinks well with little alcohol present. Did not try this fresh but think the time helped it, the clove was not overpowering and the booze/sweetness seemed nicely muted. Not as tart or, in my opinion, as good as the 2013 but a nice big pale Belgian nonetheless.

Very strong, tasty beer. Pours clody orange with creamy head, good lacing. Smells like ginger and cloves - great saison for winter. Aroma has floral hops and alcohol as well. Taste is tangy with some bitterness. Tap at brewpub.
