Shared bottle at Maakun’s. Almost clear light amber with quick diminishing off white head. Rotten apples, caramel, sweaty onions, juniper spices, resiny. Over medium sweet, sharp but not very strong yet about medium bitter. Medium body. Slick oily feel. Low fizzy carbonation, bit alcoholic. --- Beer merged from original tick of Zwönitzer India Pale Ale on 18 Dec 2017 at 09:57 - Score: 6. Original review text: 3

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Almost clear light amber with small off white head. Red apple, sweet caramel, red poisonous berries, toast, roasted notes, ruccola, sherry, cardboard. Medium sweet in a very sugary way with lasting sharp bitterness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Seems very oxidized.

On tap at the Brewery bar in International Green Week, Berlin on 22nd Jan 2016. Light amber body with a slight hazy look, white head. Mild fruity nose and initial taste, semi-sweet flavour with the malts overpowering the hops until the finish where a little bitterness kicks in. Not bad for an old style German brewery attempt at an IPA.

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with small to average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, barely white head. Grassy hoppy aroma, spicy and minimally floral hints of hay, a cautious fruity touch of blackcurrant. Taste is dry, slightly herbal and grassy hoppy, distinct notes of blackcurrant, subtle sweetness. Not complex, not IPA-typical either, but with a (considering the non-use of fruit adjunct) rather unique, really delectable blackcurrant note that earns a bonus point.

Bouteille: Deep golden to orangey, floaties visible, stable off-white foamy layer; sweet malty to caramelly nose with a cough-syrupy to herbal-hoppy background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, astonishingly light bodied for a beer of 7.5%, but at least pretty soft; a bit drier in the still sweet and cough-syrupy finish. Quite decent, but a bit too sweet and very close to the minor american samples…
