The Emilisse Stout is enhance by a blend of fine Italian espresso beans used in the brewing process. It boasts a blend of 90% Arabica and 10% Robusta, which combine to give the Emilisse Espresso Stout an extra-spicy, full-bodied palate.

from ølbutikken. Thanks for digging up this gem. black, smooth brown head. coffee, roasted grains, faint fruity note. dry slightly citrussy note i think from hops. Aroma is very elegant , complex and quite powerfull. flavor is coffee, espresso, roasted malts, dryness perhaps from hops. a little licorice sweetness, complex, in this one the coffee works real well. wood notes. Great balance, great brew. Even though the ABV is "up there" it is far from getting too sweet, rather it’s pretty dry. Among the best imp. stouts i’ve had.

Bouteille @ ACBF 2011.

Bottle. Pours black with a thin brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is full of of espresso notes with some roasted malts, a bit of sweet chocolate and a somewhat strong alcohol backbone. Flavor starts with espresso that mellows in to more of a roasted malt flavor with a bit of sweet dark grains. There is a decent amount of alcohol underlying on the tongue.

Dark roasted barley malt with lesser coffee notes, not strong. Black, medium tan head, some glass adherence. Medium body, not thick at all. Chocolate and fig initially, coffee at midpalate and beyond with a bitter char finish. Alcohol is impercptible and at 10% that makes for a dangerous beer. Good balance with distinct transitions. I don’t get a sense of espresso per se, and it definitely doesn’t drink like an imperial. It has a pervasive sweet undercurrent that isn’t unpleasant, which leads me to believe this a coffee sweet stout. It’s a delicious beer, but I would have never guessed it is an espresso impy. Deceptive but good.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Jet black pour with a tan head. Intense coffee nose. Chocolate, crème brulee, caramel and cream aromas. Nice, roasty flavours of coffee, cinnamon, dark chocolate and licorice. Dry full roast coffee action on the palate. Dry, smoky, toasty finish. The perfect pick me up after an intense night shift working as a representative of her Majesties communication distribution services other wise known as the ’post office’.

Bottled. A very dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and lots of coffee, leading to a dry and roasted coffee finish.
