Barrel me alive is een unieke barrel blend van onze allerbeste barrels. Een selectieve mix van zachte Speyside en dikke turfgerookte Islay vaten die zijn gebruikt voor het rijpen van dit prachtige bier. Een bier met een prachtige balans van houtgerijpte whisky vaten, een beetje vanille en een vleugje gerookte turf. Een bier voor de doorgewinterde en de beginnende barrel aged drinker.

Draught Tenacious dark brown-tan head, leaving fine lace over black beer. Chocolate, scorched wood, coffee, alcohol & fusels. Sweet... Sweet, with a full whisky finish, obviously smoked, Islay. Faint vanilla. Finish gives the Islay flavours extra strength. Some fruity notes as well, dark & red fruit, hint @ marzipan, alcoholsweetness. Not really complex, however. Obviously very heavy & viscous; alcoholwarmth, medium carbonation; long-lasting flavours. Classical. Tad too sweet for my preferences.

Bottle @ home. Black colour, brown foam. Lots of roasted malts, ashes, coffee along with peaty notes, whisky, booze. Taste is rather bitter and roasty, some smokiness.

Tap @ Van Moll Fest. Black. Roast, coconut and vanilla in the aroma. Dry, roast, vanilla, oak and raisin in the flavor. Coconut and roast in the finish.

Tap at Molen de Ster. Black with tan head. Sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, sour stinky funky peaty mess. Sweet dark fruits and chocolate, sour stink and bitter peat and roast. Full body and soft carbonation.

Tap at bier en cider festival Utrecht. Black with big brown head. Strong peat, thick roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, blackberries, soft tart earthy dead leaves and compost, iodine, ash. Quite sweet and bitter, light tart. Full bodied. Very strong, but lovely beer.
