The EXPATRIATE is an American Pale Ale leaving the homeland in exploration of something more. It had no idea it would find New Zealand but the hops were too good to pass up. An alliance of US and NZ hops are sure to enlist your palate for a second round....

Very full can. Clear amber, white head. Aroma of biscuit, tropical fruit, pine. Sweet with biscuit into mango and some stone fruit before pine and some pepper at the moderately bitter finish. A bit more bitterness would have suited me, but pretty good.

Canned at Black Dog Bar, Te Anau. Clear golden with small white head. Sourish, citrus, this seems infected.

330ml can at Momokaka, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. Poured a clear golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, herbal citrus. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a fresh, crisp, light piney, herbal, juicy, mango passionfruit, tropical citrus, light toffee, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml can (was overfilled so a touch explosive). Pours a bright orange brown with good head. Grapefruit, pine resin, bit dank, some bitter orange peel. Aggressively hopped, pretty good.
