''Playing to the strengths of each of our breweries, we created two hoppy brettanomyces beers.'' Northern Funk is een duo-release collaboration met onze goede vrienden uit Engeland: Northern Monk. We hebben gekozen om onze krachten te bundelen. Dit heeft geresulteerd in twee hoppige bieren die zijn vergist met Amalgamation, een brettanomyces super blend. De Northern Funk IPA is hoppig bier, dat smaakt naar een gevulde fruitschaal en heeft een fijn brettkarakter. We hebben dit bier dubbel gedryhopt met Amarillo en Columbus voor een extra frisse citrussmaak.

Tap at Oersoep/Stoom. Golden beer, small head. Aroma is fruit, sweet, funk, Citrus. Taste is the same, light tart, light sweet, fruity, light malt. Not bad

Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of Brett, grass and citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap @ Arendsnest. Blonde. Funk, citrus, bleekselderij. Malty yet dry, funky bretty flavor.

Bottle shared at Kwartje thanks to sjogro. Hazy yellow golden with white head. Thick Brett, pineapple, dry grains, lemon, funky, light wheat, pineapple. Under medium sour and bitter. Light sweet. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Color: Hazy orange golden, very thin white head. Aroma: Hop, sourish berries, Brett funk. Taste: Moderate to medium sour and bitter, moderate sweet. Somewhat more bitterness at finish. Notes of Brett funk. Fruity hints. Medium body, low carbonation. Ok, but not even near to the much better balanced Nortern Funk Pale Ale.
