Bottle. Hazy golden color with no head. Aroma is blueberries, cream, vanilla, touch of chilis - more balanced than the regular one. Taste is chili, blueberries, honey, flowery. Flat and full-bodied. Awesome!

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours clear light salmon. Aroma of honey, chili, cream. Body is medium, lightly sour, quite spicy and hot. Less creamy than the non-chipotle, but the hotness is a bit too strong for me. Still, a very good mead.

Clear pale copper mead, no head. Aroma: very sweet, vanilla, blueberries as well, funky touch, honey. MF: medium to full body. Taste: very sugary, sweet, slightly chilli touch, softly smoked, some acidity, fruity, lovely stuff! Aftertaste: sweet and sugary, vanilla, more chilli, fruity, blueberry jam, very nice stuff!

25cl bottle via trade, thanks Timo. Dorée-pâle claire sur un léger filament huileux transparent au verre. Arôme est finement mielleux. L’ajout de piments chipotle est discret et contrebalance un peu l’effet du Bourbon qui était nettement plus présent sur la version sans de base. Le côté des myrtilles reste aussi plus en retrait et sans la description, un peu dur de les identifier surtout que ces dernières n’ont pas pour habitude d’avoir un profil marquant au niveau des arômes.. Palais est plein belles notes de miel, douceur en bouche qui procure une sensation de rondeur avec un accompagnement léger de myrtilles - plus dans des notes tirant sur le frais et fruité bleuet. L’effet des chipotles reste plaisant avec, au fil du temps, une sensation de chaleur des piments qui est accompagnée de fines effluves fumées qui se font noter sans jamais devenir dérangeant et surfait.

First rating25 cl bottle on December 28, 2016.Hazy honey golden color, some oily residue. Sweet, honey, fruity scent, a hint of smoke comes out in the nose after a bit. Spicy, honey, sweet, then an intense chili heat taste. Honey, spicy, lots and lots of chili aftertaste. Sort of tricky since it starts off sweet and honey smooth, nice and complex, then BAM comes the chili on the tongue and in the back of the throat. The chili takes over and overpower the smooth back of the original mead. Full smooth mouthfeel, burning chili finish. Bottle courtesy of tkrjukoff. Pours clear very pale red golden leaving some subtle legs on the glass with a swirl. Smell is floral, fruity and earthy with floral honey, pale caramel, bilberries, lemon juice, smoked chilis, hay, minerals, lemon peal and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, fruity, floral and spicy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, oily, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet fruity and spicy with honey, bilberries, vanilla, chipotle and hints of alcohol. Not better than the base but a really cool twist. I’d argue the chipotle steals some of the base complexity.
