Draught @ The Bier & Cheese Collective, Queens (Nov 2023). Inky black with a very small frothy tan head, coffee beans aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste with strong chocolate component, thin body, long mocha finish. Very fulfilling.

Can at SHIG place tasting, thanks to Fergus, 15/04/23. Black with a moderate tan head that soon dissipates to nothing. Nose is dark malts, spice, earthy, umami, meaty, chocolate, nutty. Taste comprises chocolate, brown sugar dusting, earthy roast, molasses, toffee, dried fruit esters. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a spike of alcohol. Okay sipper if a touch basic and lacking depth.

Can thanks to Fergus: Poured a dark brown black with a fast dissipating tan head. Aroma is boozy, dark cherry, chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts, dark cherries, chocolate, coffee.

Can shared at shigs place in Newport news,. A thick oily jet black coloured pour with a lasting halo of dark tan head. Aroma is thick, treacle black sugars. Cinnamon rolls, black sugars ashy roast. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, big bitter roast, blackened sugars, treacle. Thick. Robust bitter roast. Palate is thick and oily, moderate carbonation. Harsh bitterness.

Draught at source: black with beige head. Dark roasted coffee beans, some dark chocolate, maybe a hint of sauce of soy. Sweet, but has a fair bit of bitterness in there as well. Nice roasty finish.

Roast and plenty of coffee. Milk and cream. Black pour with good mocha head and good lacing. Bitter finish with a little milkish cloying aftertaste. But this is a pretty solid stout. Tap at brewery.
