Surf Melon is a gently-salted grisette brewed with American hops, wheat, watermelon, and fresh limes. After Surfcasting is brewed and blended, we add watermelon which is fully fermented out by our house saison strain. Hazy straw in color with juicy notes of fresh watermelon, lime zest, lemon peel, and white pepper with a dry, lightly tart, and subtly salty finish.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: rustic orange to copper/bronze color with a finger and a half's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: wheaty with some Belgian yeasty toned accent and a light melon to yes, actually watermelon (took me several whiffs, but yes, I found it!); and there's the salt (weird, because I barely ever really smell salt in practically any beer) so I guess the salt dose is slightly stronger than I expected;
Flavor: pretty much is the same as the aromas - sweet, salty, wheaty, melon-like sweet and adds in some pepper, I think that's black pepper, yes, I believe so; finishes odd - somewhat peppery to salty to wheaty with melon-like sweetness (I think I like that, just weird)
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness but also some salty tones that seem to penetrate the tongue slightly
Overall: oddly enough, this works mostly for me, maybe it's a bit of a stretch of creativity but hey, I'd frequent this one again.

Guest tap @ RLRL on my second visit before packing up. Hazy, frothy, pale gold, stemware. Mellow lime, curious tropical note & appetizing pepper nose. Crispy, faintly sweet watermelon that doesn't taste like ass. Soft tartness, but constant medium acid. Good texture, faint lingering pith. I think I like this lots.

Canned 8/2/22, drunk 8/27/22. Heavily cloudy, bronze-melon. Small, off-white head. Soft and juicy watermelon is nicely attenuated and leans in to the salt with wheat and spicy saison yeast. Spicy, watermelon is light and slightly sweet/succulent with great salinity. Sot/slick and wheaty with fruity esters and heavy black pepper. Weird choice which maybe looks ok on paper and actually doesnt work terribly, but still just makes me want tartness from a gose instead of ester/phenol from a Belgian yeast. But if you can get past that, it's quite well-done.

Can. Pours yellow gold. Lime, light juicy watermelon, slightly salted, bready, floral. Medium body. Decent.
