Remember Coldfront Baltic Porter, well we tucked away a few hundred litres of it for months in a whiskey cask, this robust Baltic Porter is all about layers of rich, flavoursome malts mellowed with bountiful vanilla and hints of oak from its time spent in the wood. A rich and warming porter, with a strong cocoa character, raisin fruitiness and a sumptuous coffee and whiskey flavoured finish.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 20. Thanks Mark for bringing this the penultimate beer of the evening. Pours very dark with thick deep brown head. Brilliant roasted malt and coffee on the nose. Smooth on the palate, full bodied with a nice alluring sweetness and lovely subtle roast hints. Gentle whisky influence and nice coffee moments. This is very good indeed. Best I've had from Brixton.

Monday 26th October 2020; Shrewsbury Monthly Beer Share, in Chez Sophie. Five beer geeks, one aim! Cheers Mark for the 330ml bottle of this; BB Jan 2022. Smooth dark brew with a beige head; rich malty and vanilla esters in the nose with a mild whiskey aroma blending in. Taste is also malty with vanilla undertones, again with a mild whiskey influence.
