A collaboration with friends of the brewery, Little Monster. The Oude Bruin base was brewed in October of 2018 spending the subsequent 12 months maturing in oak with several strains of Brett, Lacto and Pedio before adding 300g/l of cherries at a ratio of 80 to 20 - sour and sweet. The beer was left on fruit in oak for a further 6 months before naturally carbonating with wild yeast in package.
The aroma is intensely fruit forward, bursting with a glacé cherry sweetness backed by undertones of rich oxidative red wine and oak. Whilst dominated by ripe cherry, crystal malts and complex acid from the base beer sing through the sweetness. Reminiscent of cherry wine with an almond, marzipan sweetness through the mid palate before finishing dry and citric.

On tap at Famous Royal Navy Volunteer Bristol. Dark dark ruby red no head. biscuit and dark fruit on aroma. apart from a little funk I couldn't taste this from a Belgian fruit sour. its damn good. sour berry jam smeared on digestive biscuits. yes £11 a pint but it's incredible. the cherry is lovely. the oud Bruin bit is amazing. loved it. sublime. best uk fruit sour I've had? possibly. I may be drunk but that's it for tonight. I wont have anything better today. just give up and go home. amazing beer. highest I've rated a new beer in ages.

Keg @ Tap and Can. Pours a hazed dull brown, no head remaining. Big sour juicy cherry nose. Taste sees sweet sour cherries teasing out the sweet sour flemish red flavours alongside a buzzsaw sourness. Really impressed with this. Best I've had from LBF.
