Tap at Hopa, thanks to the BPBW crew for this one. Only took numerical notes while having this.

On tap at In de Wildeman, pours jet black with a medium beige head. Aroma is full of roasted malt, strong piney hops, and some earthiness. Flavour is ridiculously deep for a ~4% stout — loads of roasted malt, strong piney hops, and some earthiness. Roasty, hoppy, in wonderful balance. Excellent.
Nice stuff. Roasty and chocolatey but with a nice bite to it too.

Cask at Alexandra, Derby. Pours very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head and good lacing. Aroma is mainly roasted malts with just a hint of ginger. Roast malts to the fore in the mouth as well, with some floral hops, liquorice and dark fruits plus traces of citrus and summer fruits. Finish is dry and slightly bitter. Quite nice – though I wouldn’t say it was particularly dry.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Roast and light chocolate aroma. Chocolate and light roast flavor with nice fruity backing. Medium bodied. Fruitiness and chocolate linger.

One of Kernel's dry stout variations, this one hopped with 'passepartout' Mosaic. Courtesy of tderoeck, cheers Tim! Very thick and foamy, very creamy, dense, yellowish beige, paper-lacing, utterly stable head and obviously hops-enhanced head on a very dark - near black - chocolate brown beer with lightly hazy wine-red edge. Quite intense aroma of crushed black peppercorns, roasted walnuts, unsugared chocolate, grapefruit peel, coffee grounds, thyme, 'blood'-like natural iron, burnt caramel, dark green tree leaves, black tea, cigar ashes, beef stock. Sweetish onset with sourish undertone, very light black olive-like umami accent, medium fizz; supple, lean, oily body, very roasted-nutty core with blood-like metallic edges, black coffee and toast, rounded, with a firm, spicy, leafy and slightly citrus peel-like hop bitterness dominating the tail, a tad quinine-like in the end, bringing some retronasal aspects of dried thyme, old dry grapefruit peel and black pepper, filling the finish in a dry, long-bitter way, though the nuttiness of the malts keeps things rounded and balanced. Focused, streamlined and technically well-executed dry stout indeed; I must admit that I did, perhaps, expect a bit more expressive and aromatic hoppiness with luscious black IPA-like ambitions, but this beer remains firmly in the dry stout range in spite of the Mosaic (and not thanks to it). Works fine for me, though.
