Our Cherry Oakey cider is a little bit different. It is a gorgeous year long brettanomyces fermentation of Herefordshire cherries and cider apples in oak barrels fortified with a little of our own cider apple brandy. A sour cherry note with the warming touch of brandy. Some things are worth waiting for....

Bottle, 330 ml. Shared with Max, Miro B and kajser27. Clear red orange with almost no head. Apples, cherries, oak, brandy, acetone in aroma, medium sweetness, medium+ sourness. Puckering. Light to medium bodied. Interesting, however the aroma is bit of a letdown.

29/2/2020. Bottle sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear amber bronze with minimal head. Aroma of wood, apple, subtle cherry, vanilla and brown sugar, with light funky and bretty notes. Medium sugary sweetness balanced very nicely by a moderate sour. Medium body. Very nicely done.

330ml bottle from Beer District, Buxton. Pours a clear pink, no head to speak of. Light cherry juice on the nose, taste is fairly rich, certainly doesn't bely its 10% strength, excellent brandy integration, nice nutty vanilla murmurs on the close, alongside Hogan's recognisable, if soft tannic acidity, gentle cherry notes weaving about. Very enjoyable, more of this sort of thing please.
