Bottle at home. Pours a hazy reddish brown colour with a big beige head. Aroma of apricot, oak, vinegums, caramel, cherries, licorice and sweet cake. Flavour of oak, gooseberries, bread crumbs, licorice, cigarette and heather. Grass in a strange dry and bitter ending. Some alcohol in the background. Has a silky mouth feel, medium to full-bodied and a medium bitterness. Interesting aroma but the flavour is unbalanced and a little strange.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear, pale amber with a small, off-white head. Aroma is subtle but has a little caramel I guess. Medium body, a little roast and brown sugars with the alcohol really opening up at the end. It's not the most sophisticated beer in the world, but there's nothing wrong as such. 191217

330ml bottle, 2016 version, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Huge, rocky, off-white head leaving clingy lacing down the glass. Cloudy orange coloured body. Spiced dried fruity nose. Dried fruity flavours combined with ripe orange, caramel, clove and Belgian yeast strain. Dry and bittersweet to the ending sustained by warming alcohol. Pretty nice - just a bit too foamy in the mouth (Tromsø 14.12.2016).

Gylden brun klar med høyt kremete beige skum. Lukter røde bær, alkohol og brent karamell. Middels fylde. Kjenner godt alkoholen, litt skarp. Kandis og røde bær. Har fått med belgisk gjær. Sitter lenge.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.5%. Brewed with dark kandij sugar syrup, spruce tip syrup and spices. Hops are Aurora and Saaz. 30 IBU. Dark amber to brown colour, slightly hazy. Large white head. Moderate aroma of Christmas spices (incl. star anise) and kandij sugar, hints of spruce. The flavour is not too sweet, but has notes of kandij sugar, spruce tips and distinct Christmas spices. Sharp notes of cloves, pepper and hops in the finish. Well worth sampling, but not a favourite of mine.
