On tap at Håndverkeren. Guess this one’s an excellent choice for number 16000 as I was one of the founders of this brewery, which I ended up leaving some months ago. It was also the first beer we made and released, so a big milestone it was. And a fantastic feeling getting the brewery up and running. Well, I really liked this one, the hop is doing a great job, and keeps the malts in the back. It’s lightly unclear in the glass, dark golden in color and with a dense, finger-thick off-white head leaving lacework. Grapefruit, pine cones and some tropical fruits in the aroma. There’s a pleasant and not pushing bitterness, some sweetness in the back, with light biscuity malts and a faint umami touch. It’s full-bodied, nicely carbonated, and finishing with a fine blend of bitterness, grapefruit and pale malt notes. Not a fantastic one in a million beer, but a lovely IPA that slakes the thirst, quenches and tastes and smell lovely. Hope they decide to brew it again. 150704

On tap at Café Sara, Oslo. Clear amber with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma with fruity notes, hints of peaches, pine, herbs and light caramel. Medium sweet with nicely balanced flavours and a pleasant bitterness. Tasty, easy to drink and certainly a decent debut.

On tap @ Kick. Unclear deep orange body with a nice, stable, lacing off-white head. Really nice aroma with lots of fruit, both citric and tropical and some caramel malt. Flavor is sweet malt, some caramel, fruity like aroma and a good portion of bitterness. Fine balanced body and good, long lasting aftertaste. All in all a very refreshing and well balanced beer with lots of flavors. Normally I lower my expectations to single hops beer because I believe they are mainly made to present a certain hop variety, this one feels like a complete IPA, nothing is missing here. I.e. I don’t find any fruit like peach, grapefruit etc. taking over for anything else, the fruit flavor is more general within the citric and tropical families. Rather complex in bitterness actually. There is also a little hint of red berries appearing after a while. The malt base is pleasantly present and make a perfect balance for the bitterness. I really nice start for a newcomer and looking forward to see some more challenging beers together with the solid ones in the future.

Nice golden color with a fine thick white head that leaves a fine lacing down the glass. Look quite inviting. Nice aroma with pine, grapefruit hoppy, caramel malty and mild tropical fruity. Rich and a fine balance. Medium + body and a fine pleasant carbonation. Easy to drink. Moderate sweetness and a fine bitterness. Your mouth feels this one quite good. Ok complex flavor. And it last in your mouth for a while. Pine, mild tropical, some resin, grapefruit hoppy and mild tropical fruity flavor. Nice and a really promising start for this brewery. One more please.
