Can. Reddish brown with a cm of off-white head. Floaty citrus aroma above sticky bread crust. Water-, not honeydew melon. Light bodied. Drier than I'd have guessed with a nice balance between the fruit and the malt before modest bitterness. Not usually my sort of thing but pretty good.

Aromas of toast, caramel, pine and a little cream. The caramel and pine are prominent in the mouth, but it's generally one dimensional.

Pours copper with small head.Nose shows bready and toasty malt, resinous hops, piny notes and a bit of tropical fruit confectionery.Flavours include more bready and toasty malt, assertive piny hops, resinous notes and a fair whack of caramel. Finishes with more of the lingering pine in a fairly punchy, but balanced, bitterness.

Can. Red/amber. Caramel nose. And that's the gist of it in terms of flavour. A little bit of raisin there too. Almost creamy mouthfeel feel. Very classic red, but I'd prefer it a bit punchier.

Served in a handle pint at the Bank Hotel, Newtown. Red/brown beer with a thin white head. I feel like I'm in a 70's English sitcom (On the buses, perhaps). Anyway........ Sweet fruity nose. High fine carbonation. Nice lacing. Full-bodied. Malty with some smokiness. Finish is lingering and fruity. Lovely ale. It might look like 'Watney's Red Barrel' but it's a quality drink.
