Apricity is an old English word for the warmth of the sun on a winter's day. A bright acidity brought on by the use of Italian plums is contrasted by a soft, oaky character imparted by sugar maple wood. This foeder-aged Sour ale is a complex, refreshing, and surprisingly light. Apricity will perk up any cold winter's night.

16oz from The Gull LRS (thx, Alex!) @ home. Appearance: hazy copper with a huge tan head. Aroma: funky, barrel, plums. Taste: along the same lines with some maple and caramel notes. Overall: pleasant and quite refreshing. Nicely balanced acitidity, fruits, funk, and touch of maple.

Deep copper body with good foam. Excellent wood funk and sharp Flanders yeast on the nose. Flavour is deep chewy yeasty maltiness, more flanders red character, yet nothing behind it. Mouthfeel is also a little thin, carbonation should be more full. Still, very nice to get some proper flanders red notes in a local beer.

Can. Hazy, dark amber colour. The aroma is quite woody, with a light plum note. On the palate, it has mild tartness, a decent amount of fruitiness, and then that maple kicks in late. The maple, honestly, it's weird. It doesn't fit. I find the cloying maple clashes with everything else here. Yeah, it's not objectively bad, but I don't like it.

Clearish copper with a frothy light head. Apple, plum and caramel. Soured plums and apple with some malts.

473mL can, pours a cloudy dark rusted amber red with a small beige head. Nose is full of gently tart plums, lots of oak, and a touch of maple. Flavour reveals a lot of maple and gentle plum in an interesting and unique combination, accentuated by the oak foeders and a tiny hint of acidity. Really unusual combination of flavours. Works beautifully. Excellent.
