Solid stuff! Sweet but rather sweet RIP sweet than pastry stout sweet. Plenty of vanilla and tonka. The latter is one tricky seed which I find gives beers a slightly medicinal note when pronounced. Roasty and decently bitter. Robust body rather than oily.

Had this at home Wednesday 6th January 2021 listening to Billy Nomates - No and cooking homemade Fish Pie, technically seafood as there are more prawns, mussels and squid than fish. Pours black with a tan head, rich and oily textured beer, big on the bean front and a little bit in yer’ face with the barrel ageing. Of course all of the usual things are here, chocolate, coffee, vanilla etc, and whilst it’s not bad it is a bit heavy handed.

440ml can. Pitch black with almost no head. Aroma of bourbon, tonka, dark chocolate. Taste has lots of whiskey, rich with tonka, dark chocolate, coffee, a little creamy vanilla then lots more oaky bourbon in the finish, booze. Medium-full bodied, very smooth. Whiskey/barrel is almost overpowering the beer, aside from that it's pretty amazing stuff.
