12/VII/24 - 44cl can @ Katieโ€™s UK beer tasting (@home), BB: 30/XI/25 (2024-545) Thanks to Katie for the awesome beer tasting!

Cloudy brown to light brown beer, no head whatsoever. Aroma: very sweet and sugary impression, caramel, cocoa powder, malty, grains, hay, some cow fodder. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very malty start, grains, hoppy touch, more grains, gentle roast, some chocolate, pretty oxidized, cardboard. Aftertaste: chocolate, a bit sweet, more oxidation, cardboard, malty, grains, hay, cocoa powder, bitter, fake ersatz chocolate, not really great, alas. The can with the best label design, had the worst beer in it tonight. :(

Thin tan head left a dark mahogany coloured still body. Burnt, tobacco & roasted aroma. Full bodied, smooth, soft & cloying. Chocolate, sweet confectionery, coffee, honey & dried fruit tastes. Excellent!

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 29/01/21. Black with a decent tan cap that escapes edgeward. Nose is rich malts, dark chocolate, light spice, trace of booze, nutty twang. Taste comprises dark chocolate melt, brown sugars, molasses, light spice, kiss of alcohol. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent impy ... nice dark chocolate profile.

31/1/2021. Can sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is rich, roasted, chocolate, coffee, malt, carob, nut, touch of spice. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Warming boozy finish. Heavy duty impy stout.

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma has dark chocolate pierced with sharp berries. Underlying creaminess. Dark and glossy. Thick foamy microbubbled head. Medium-heavy bitterness - bitter cacao - with underlying sugary oat creaminess. Boozey bite throughout. As I drink more a berry sour edge develops. Heavy bodied. Thick and oily. Sticky. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Certainly doesn't scrimp on the cacao or booze.

Can from Staggeringly Good Brewery, Portsmouth (online shop). A black coloured pour with a thin beige head which doesn't hang about long. Rich sweet, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes quite rich, chocolate is initially sweet and creamy but then becomes quite bitter. Decent enough imperial stout but lacking some finesse.

Black beer, thin head disappears pretty quickly. Hefty chocolate aroma with a bit of toasty malt. Flavour feels like it's got a mix of chocolate because initially it seems really creamy but there's definitely some more bitter dark chocolate flavour in there too. The backtaste definitely leans a bit more into the bitter side and a touch of boozy warmth to let you know it's a 10%er. Pretty good stuff.
