Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, smoke, caramel, chocolate, Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long roasted, smoked, chocolate and caramel finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

15 December 2018. Black Beer Fest, Ieper. Cheers to Anke, Erwin & Ama Deke! Hazy dark brown to black with a lasting, thin, frothy, tan head. Aroma of peat, smoked ham & bacon, salted peanut, whisky, chocolate, prune. Taste is light malty sweet, quite nutty, notes of chocolate & prune & a smoky touch, faintly soy-like umami. Light to medium roasted bitter then, toasted bread, coffee & whisky, already warming up. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, quite peated, warming whisky alcohol, not much more, becoming rather flat & varnish-like (thanks, Erwin, for pointing out that it reminds one of 'plakkaatverf' or gouache). Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Peated alright, but not working very well, all aspects remain quite 'basic'.

From tap at Lawendowa 8, Gdansk, with TS. Ebony. Brown head. Excellent aroma and taste of smoked malt, dark chocolate, dark berries and some bitterness. Very well balance of bitterness and sweetness. Tar and creosote in aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Loving the artwork on these bottles! Black with tan head. Big sweet deep roasted malts, salmiak, goaty peat, soy sauce, licorice, tobacco. Over medium sweet and bitter, light salty and hint of sour, mild umami. Full body and soft carbonation. Liquid tobacco. Unburnt tobacco. The shaggy brown juicy stuff. This is not a bacon-like rauchbier but it’s definitely meaty af. More like sheep steak or whatever it’s called in English. Like tobacco on your lip from hand rolled cigarettes, but then all the way down your throat.

At a tasting, thanks, no head, very dark brown color, aroma of peat, disinfectant and ash, flavor of charred wood, ash and peat with some chocolate coming through behind, a bit one dimensional, becomes rounder in time. Nice and enjoyable.

Barwa i piana wzorowo -szkoda opisywać. Naprawdę zacny trunek.

On tap in BroPub. Black colour, small head with fair lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate, peat - not very aggressive. Alcohol is present but does not disturb. Light sweetness. Full body. Well-balanced peated stout.
