On tap at Kick. A reddish dark brown beer topped by a small, dense beige head leaving curtains. Dark chocolate, some coffee and roasted malts and a nice tonka scent in the aroma. Some dried fruits. It’s roasted, bitter and chocolate flavored, with lots of delicious tonka flavor. Nice bitterness too. Pine cone hints. Full body with a faint warmth. Pleasant carbonation. Lasting roasted finish with tonka and bitterness. Finally a tonka beer from this brewery. Loving it. 151106

Draught @ Gastropuben KICK Malt & Mat, Kristiansand
Pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, biscuit, brown sugar, cinnamon, tonga beans and pepper. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel, biscuit, tonga and spices finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Shared bottle at DSJT at Cardinal 08.11.15. Clear copper. Persistent beige head and lacing. Aroma of vomit and brittle - with the latter taking over from the first. Taste is better, with caramel and brittle. Quite dry.

On tap @ Patricks. Dark brown body with a small, lacing off-white head. Aroma is relatively mild, dark malt, biscuit, some dry fruit, slightly spicy and hint of liquorice. Flavor is a bit sweet, dark malt, mild coffee, kinda spicy without any practical flavor, relatively bitter. Fine balanced body and decent aftertaste. OK, slightly alternative Christmas beer. 7-3-7-4-13
Re-rate 2016 edition from 330 ml bottle. Dark brown with a fine, dense beige head. Aroma is malty with caramel, dry fruit, light toast and spicy. Flavor is sweet and smooth dark malt, dry fruit, hint of toast, spicy and balanced fruity bitterness. A very nice and sort of calm beer.

330 ml bottle, batch #23, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Brewed with tonka beans. Dark brown colour, huge beige head. Unusual and strong perfumed aroma (the tonka beans, probably), notes of flowers, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Medium sweet flavour, strong "perfumed" notes of tonka beans again, also moderately roasted malts, chocolate and some hops in the finish. The tonka beans are kind of interesting, but do they make this a great beer? I don’t think so. Tonka beans are much utilised to make perfume - but keep them out of my beer, please.
