Sampled @ my one and only THT 2018. Opaque pitch black color, average sized beige to mocha colored head. Aroma is malts, cinnamon, dark malts, dark chocolate, chocolate bitter. Flavor is similar. Heavy cinnamon, maybe over the top but in the end I like it a lot. Quite ok, especially the nice bourbon flavor.

The beer is black with a very slim brown line at the edges. Head is small and a bit fizzy. It’s light brown in color. Dissipates fairly quickly. The aroma is full of cocoa, vanilla and nutmeg. Fair bit of spice. Light roast. Big chocolate milk flavor. It’s sweet and creamy on the palate. Rich milk chocolate. Big on vanilla and nutmeg again. The vanilla really gives the sweetness a rich, smooth character. Very full mouthfeel. Enough roast, oak and booze warmth in the finish to keep the sweetness from getting too sticky. It’s a dessert beer but pretty easy to drink. Some booze but it’s nice and helps the beer overall. Solid bourbon flavor. Very enjoyable. It’s like vanilla ice cream with a bourbon chocolate sauce and a dash of nutmeg.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is nutmeg forward with lots of maple, and dark chocolate. Lighter vanilla notes with some balanced bourbon notes. Light roast character. A very cake like aroma. Hints of oak. Pours jet black with a thin, dark mocha head that recedes immediately and disappears. No lacing and sheets of alcohol. Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate and some lighter roast notes. Quite a bit of nutmeg and maple syrup. Lighter vanilla notes with a bit of bourbon and faint oak. Medium light bitterness, mostly from the nutmeg, with some light alcohol spice. Very dessert like. Mouthfeel is full bodied and somewhat silky with almost no carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a much better stout than I was expecting and probably the first one with nutmeg that I enjoyed. Only a hit of bitterness from the nutmeg. Nice alcohol notes. Very dessrt like beer.
