Released March 24th 1979 Overkill is the second studio album Motörhead released in 1979 and was listed among the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time.

It's a ferocious, ear-jarring and eye-watering album, perfectly showcasing Motörhead's trademark style of dirty no holds barred rock’n’roll delivered with a punk snarl and raw heavy metal attitude that forces itself into your mind, body and soul.

Overkill Pilsner was crafted with this in mind. Based on a Czech pilsner style with the late hop addition of Styrian Wolf hops which, adds a gentle fruity taste to its solid malty backbone. Crisp, clean and very refreshing but with a little bite!

Can 44 cl. Pours a clear, deep golden - almost amber - with a small, rough, white head. Rather metallic aroma. Medium body, sweet malt and some corn and brewing syrup. Subdued bitterness. Macro Pale Lager - not a Pilsner. 100825

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Almost clear deep golden, coarse head. Mild orange aroma. Sweet with light body and rounded mouthfeel. Sugared orange some grain. Low bitterness. More Elton John than Motörhead.

Can. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of hops. Bitter, hoppy touches detectable in the overwhelmingly sweet (for the style) flavour of malt and yeast. Bitter and estery aftertaste with malty notes. Decent but not quite a typical Pilsener.

Can, 4.3%. Good hay aroma with a pleasant soapy/flowery touch. Clear dark golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is clean and malty with low bitterness, hint of floral hops, soap, dust, metal. Creamy mouthfeel.

Can shared at home, köszi Tomi! Pours deep, clear golden with white head. Nose is herbal, lightly grassy hops. Taste is moderately sweet and bready first, but that herbal hoppy character takes over quickly, closing with a long lasting finish. Nothing to write home about, but actually a pretty decent pilsner.
