Bottle from Burg Bieren, Ermelo. Aroma is huge brandy with roasted malt, chocolate, lots of oak, dried red fruits, marzipan, booze, raisins. Flavour is sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium to full. Nice Brandy BA with tons of wood, dried fruits and some booze. Nice one to sip on.

From bottle, thanks Skortila! Malt syrup and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor. Roast, raisin. Alcoholic. Nice.

Microbar, Reykjavik. Bottle. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Pretty light for the abv. Very light actually. Fluffy dark malts, mellow dark chocolate, slightly tangy. Smooth and light Armangac, but rich too. Mild spice and a trace of wood. Little fruity Armangac on the light finish. Just a mild warming afterglow. Stupidly drinkable for the abv.

Same problem as the 8.8 had, way too much barrel, and not nearly enough beer remaining. Tons of Armagnac (which I love), little bit of alcohol, sweet, rich, warming and smooth. Hint of sharpness from the base beer, some licorice. Totally unbalanced.

Bottle at Wildeman, thanks Skortilla! Black pour. Aroma of red fruit, chocolate and creamy roasted malt. Rich flavor of chocolate, red fruit, vinous grape, caramel, creamy roasted malt and a long finish. Really good.

Bottle shared at home courtesy of Puttentjes. Black with light tan head. Sweet roadted caramel malts. Toffee, coffee, taffee, boozy, dark roasty earthy and nutty tones. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, quite boozy, more than soft carbonation. --- Beer merged from original tick of Surtur Nr.8.5 (Armagnac BA) on 30 Dec 2017 at 12:19 - Score: 7

Bottle shared thanks to Puttetjes. Black with beige head. Marzipan, light cognac, blackberries, drop, quite roast, bit dusty, rum, booze, dried strawberries, soft vanilla, dark chocolate. Quite sweet, medium bitter and light sour. Over medium bodied with slick feel and low carbonation. Quite unusual bit it’s quite nice, especially the taste which is mellow for the high abv.

Bottle (at koht). Aroma is booze, chocolate, malt, roast, some vodka. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, rubber, malt, booze, apples. Finish is roast and booze. Overall: good, but booze is a bit overwhelming.
