Hard Rain, made from the second pressing of apples with the addition of water, is our modern interpretation of an old historic drink, ciderkin. We also like to think of it as upcycling pomace.

Here we used Dabinett, spontaneously fermented in barrel and later infused with Chinook hops grown next door to our cidery, before bottle conditioning. It’s instantly refreshing, tangy, very grapefruity and naturally lower in alcohol.

750ml bottle from Little Pomona. Hazy yellow gold colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of citrusy hop, fleshy apple hints. Taste is apple, juicy, then tangy citrus hoppy resiny with some sourness. Slick mouthfeel, light bodied, soft carbonation, dry hopped tart & sour citric finish. Nicely drinkable.
