Bourbon barrel aged Buried Hatchet Stout. Aged in Bourbon barrels, this specialty will have all of the rich malt flavor of its' base beer, our Buried Hatchet Stout, complimented by a caramel, woody sweetness and vanilla notes from prolonged contact with American Oak. Dark tobacco, medium char and hints of the original Bourbon make this hard to find release a real treat.

16oz can pours an opaque black with some sticky, off white head. Big chocolate nose, vanilla too, malt, rootbeer, some roasty notes, nougat, hazelnut. Flavor is sweet with malt, nutella, chocolate, vanilla, nougat. Finishes sweet, full bodied. Nice enough, but really just reads as a sweet stout, not really any distinct barrel.

Dark brown color. Bourbon in the aroma and the flavor, palate seems thin. This is OK. From a can.

Sampled from the can thanks to Tom! Pours a dark brown withy a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strong dry roasted malts with dark grains and a touch of bourbon underlying. Flavor has strong roasted malts supported by bourbon and dark grains.

Can shared thanks to Kevin. Very dark brown with short lasting fizzy beige head. Lots of hazelnuts, roasted malts, some vanilla, licorice, sweet malts, brown sugar, cola, light earth. Quite sweet with light boozy bitter finish. Over medium bodied with fizzy carbonation.

Can from Whole Foods-Lamar. Mild, smooth, but the Imperial nature comes on late, lingering bitterness and mild burn. Chocolate, coffee, burnt toast.
