A can from the son in law from Norway. My can looks just like this one but says 'fjoonnissen' with an 'n' on the end. I hope this is the correct spot for the rating. Pour is a beauty, looked like a good nitro stout with all the foamy action and formation settling to the creamy head. After a few minutes, the head disappears. Nose is mild sweet malt, maybe with just a touch of dark chocolate aroma. Oh my, first taste is flat boozy dark chocolate. Intense bittersweet and profound. What a slam to the palate. Earthy sophisticated cocoa. You better sip this baby, no gulping going on here. Quite difficult to drink in the middle, getting viscous at times. This must be some kind of imperial porter fer sher. Much stronger in flavor compared to Wheeling's Nail City and Lattitude 42's South Pacific Imperial Breakfast. Even a bigger ass kick compared to Bullseye's Kovachee and Flying Fish Exit 18. Yeow, a little bit of cloying attitude is beginning to reveal itself. A light burning sensation on the tongue, quite unique. Near the end I'm starting to reminisce about grampa's homemade canned whisky soaked dark cherries. Big thanks to Ben and Val for kicking my ass with this one. Golly gosh, phew whoo who, wow dear me, good gracious goodness, gee whiz, sakes alive, oh dear. Now My tomte says I'm nearly intoxicated inebriated befuddled and slightly tipsy. There, you have it.

Superficial tasted @ Håntverkeren juleølfestival. Unclear, dark reddish amber body under a small, beige head. Aroma has malt, dark berries and some chocolate. Taste is sweet with malt, chocolate, dry fruit, berries and warming alcohol. Fine body with smooth, sweet aftertaste. Quite pleasant.

2021-11-20: Can at home. Pours dark brown to black with beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, a lot of fruity esters. Tastes pretty sweet with little bitterness and some fruity sourness. Medium bodied. 2024-11-29: Shared can at Ole's. Pours dark brown without any head. Aroma of esters, ethanol, rotten vegetables. Tastes sweet with some sourness; unbalanced. Medium bodied. This year's Fjøsnisse tastes like bad home brew.

Bottle. An almost still, almost clear dark brown beer with some bubbles on top. The aroma feels quite sourish, with dark dried fruits, grass, dark chocolate, dark bread and prunes. And then some grass. It's medium to full-bodied, rather low on carbonation, with a hint of alcohol. Semi-sweet. Dark dried fruits, prunes and raisins, with some sourness, grass, dark chocolate and a bready touch. Some toast too. Long fruity-sour finish with dark dried fruits and some brown sugar. Not much interesting going on here. 210921

330 ml bottle, batch #146, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 9%. Nearly black colour, huge beige to tan head. Aroma of moderately roasted malts, chocolate, oatmeal / porridge, mild coffee and prunes. The flavour has a fairly distinct fruity acidity, notes of plums and prunes, possibly from the kveik, not sure if this is intended. Otherwise the same elements as the aroma, low bitterness.
