Bottle shared at home courtesy of Mrk. Black with light tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts, booze, salmiak, dark fruits, hints of coffee, whiskey, chocolate milk. Big sweet, moderate bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Boozy but friendly.

Bottle shared thanks to Mrk. Almost black with beige head. Black currant, caramel, milk chocolate, licorice, quite boozy but not really in a whisky way, more tequila or gin. Light smoke, wood and cardboard. Medium sweet, almost medium bitter. Over medium bodied with slick and dry feel. Quite nice barrel ageing, even though the base beer doesn’t shine through much.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Some sweet wood and whisky on the aroma. Touch of orange on the aroma, so I’m guessing it’s more a Speyside whisky barrel than anything too peaty. Some tar, dark chocolate, dark coffee on the aroma. In the mouth more of the same, Not intense. A little newspaper which you sometimes get on very dry impy stouts. Some booze at the end. The barrel ageing is relatively subtle. I ended up quite liking it. Some tar, some liquorice but that’s balanced by the sweetness from the barrel ageing. Definitely oranges in this. Had far worse impy stouts that have been barrel aged. Still it has room for improvement, especially that newspaper flavour. Good kick to it. Overall fine, the bottle went quite quickly but not one I’d buy again.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room. BBE FIN 2018. Aroma is sweet with licorice and molasses. Flavour has salty licorice, some molasses, ash, alcohol and some whisky. Too salty for me but good anyway.
