Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is dark malt with a surprising amount of coffee, roasty notes, a touch of liquorice and mocha. Flavour is medium sweet with a roasty hoppy bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. Quite a tasty 'Coffee Bock'.

330ml bottle. Dark brown colour with ruby glimmer and small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Intense, roasty and chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, toffee, dark chocolate, a touch of plum and liquorice. Taste is sweet-ish chocolately and bitter, roasty dark malty, slightly bitter hoppy, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, toffee, cocoa, a touch of salty liquorice, bitter hoppy overtones. Really nice!

Tap, Café Morshuis Albergen. Dark brown color. Pear drups, caramel, and a hint of smoke in the aroma. Dry, roasty flavor. Just a hint of caramel. Coughing syrup. Thinnish. Decent.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Clear brown with a thin off-white head. Dark caramel with some coffee. Surprisingly hoppy for a bock. Almost a black IPA actually. Good beer although it's nothing like a bock at all.

The Bock in this series of Het Nest beers, largely dedicated to non-indigenous beer styles, bottle from Wijnegemse Drankenhal. Pale greyish beige, mousy, medium thick, regular and very stable, cobweb-lacing head, hazy ruddy chestnut-chocolate brown robe with vermillion red hue. Aroma of freshly baked cookies, strong dried fig, banana, cashew nut, dry tea bags, diluted coffee grounds, light bubblegum, vague hints of shag and pepper. Sweetish onset, banana with a touch of bubblegum, strong fig, medium carb, light sourish note, slick and bit resinous mouthfeel; nutty, bread crumb- and somewhat nougat-like malt sweet middle, clear aromatic coffee powder note coming through in the finish, herbal hop bitter accent blending well with the subtle bitterness added by the coffee, making for a moderately dryish ending. Basically a Dutch-style 'herstbok' with a dash of coffee, surprisingly accomplishing its goal very well.

Medium, dense cream-beige head over deep dark redbrown beer. Chocolate, toffe, but also bit dusty. Red & dried fruit (figs, dates,...) Very roasted to burnt flavour, dry, and clearly some hops. malts much more in retreat, except for the roast; ashy. Medium bodied, slick, good carbonation. Classical (Dutch) Bock nose, the taste is totally different, hoppier story.
