Ramborn Farmhouse is a tribute to the way cider (or ‘viez’) has been made in this part of the world for centuries – it’s a very dry, lightly sparkling, almost wine-like cider with a distinctive, refreshing sharpness.

It features three local apple varieties with high levels of tannins and natural acidity, making them perfect for cider-making: Erbachhofer, Holzapfel, and Wiesenapfel.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Golden colour, small white head, which vanishes fast. Aroma is apples, some floral and mild herbal tones. Flavour is apples, some yeast, wood and mild green apple skins as well. Smoothly balanced.

On tap at The Tube, pours a clear pale blonde with a tiny white head. Nose brings out gentle apple skins, a hint of farmhouse character and straw. Flavour is medium sweet, with gentle farmhouse funk, apple skins, and medium sweetness. Nothing overly special but it's made well enough.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Clear golden. Concentrated mildy tart apple aroma with some funk. Tart with medium body and rounded, vital mouthfeel. Tart unripe apples, apple skins, and mild barnyard. Mild apple skin bitterness.

ABV: 6.5%. Clear medium yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate apple, sweet apple, red apples, green apples. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, apple, red apple sweet, apple skin, sharp apple - crispy, tannins, green apple. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Sample thanks to Danlo! Misty gold appearance. Aroma has caramel and rich apple fruit. Soft carbonation. Taste presents gently sweet apple fruit with a light tang, soft sugary element, gentle juicy apple fruit, light acidity, some mild apple skin, drying close. Decent overall.

330ml bottle from Scrattings. Golden colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of pulpy apple, green apple, sweetish. Taste is tart, tangy apple, green apple, some skin and core, light funky, acidic. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.
