Dark brown with a frothy to creamy head. Aroma has notes of chocolate and upturned earth. Mildly smoky. Taste is mildly sweet with noticeable caramel, cherry bonbon and chocolate. A smoky and grainy bitterness takes over the finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice.

05.07.2019 -- on tap at academie de la biere in strasbourg krutenau, 4€/0.25l. pours a hazy dark chestnut with a dense beige head. aroma of smoke, bacon, funk, vinegar. flavour of balsamico, chocolate, sour cherries and slight bacon with a nice lactic sourness and grassy bitterness. sour metallic finish.

Draught at Le Grincheux, Strasbourg. Clear, dark red to brown colored. AROMA- toasted malts, caramel, lightly smoky, touch of fruit. FLAVOR- neutral, just touch of sourness, fruity, sour cherries, berries, toasted malts, slightly smoky. Medium bodied.

Bottle shared. Clear dark reddish amber with big off white head. Smoke, light ham, caramel, light dried apricots, sweet malts, light milk chocolate. Medium sweet and light bitter. Over medium bodied. Not bad for a smoked beer.
