Our annual small-batch brew of Pudding Ale marks the start of the festive season for us here at the pub and brewery. As well as drinking it we add it to everything we can in December – cakes, puddings, even sauces!
A strong, rich mahogany-coloured ale featuring dried fruit and cake malt flavours with a balancing spicy and citrus hop. Ideal for adding to rich fruit cakes and desserts.

500ml bottle. Gluten Free. Amber brown colour, foamy white head leaving lacing and aroma of malt, dried fruit, spice. Taste is sweet, malty, spice, caramel, raisin, fruit cake, chocolate hint, with some earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweet spiced finish. Quite drinkable.

Third by cask on the 2nd day of GBBF Winter 2020, Jewellers' Bar. Shared with Finn. Deep mahogany coloured body, lacing rings from a filmy layer. Dried fruity aromas, raisin to the fore. Rather sweet taste of caramel and raisin, hints of spices. Ends rather sweet and a tad cloying. Okay in smaller amounts. (Birmingham 05.02.2020).

Bottle at home as a present from my brother. It poured a rather dull and lifeless black in the glass and was fizzing like a can of coke. The nose was all dead yeast and general offness and my one tiny sip confirmed that this was completely spoiled. You've got to call it as you drink it and this was truly off. Luckily I had a half bottle of Barbera left over from Sunday that put a smile back on my face.
