Can (what else?). Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of nuts, maple syrup and coffee, with notes of malt. Bitter, roasty and coffeelike notes onset with sweetish notes of maple and pronounced nutty notes. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with nutty and maplelike notes. Very nice but the carbonation could be higher.

Can. Sweetish and syrupy aroma. Black colour. No head. The flavour is extremely sweet. Some vanilla and a strange spice, perhaps the pecan. Tastes good but is too sweet for me.

33 cL can. Pours hazy dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma is pecan and sweet toffee. Vanilla, sweet, dark roasted. Maple syrup. Thick malty. Lingering dark malt and sweet maple syrup finish. Rather sweet.

Opaque. Deep brown to black. Small tan head. Nose: huge nuts, marzipan, dark malts, brandy, dried fruit. Full body. Taste: sweet, loads of nuts, cocoa, marzipan, dries fruit. Low bitterness. Over the top dessert profile. Almost sticky. Not bad. Not my cup of tea either.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - molasses, burnt bread, raisins and very dark chocolate. Maple and pecan of course. There's a general pancake thing going on. Then blackberries come through late. Taste - pecan and dark chocolate. Maple pancakes follow it in. Palate - fill bodied and creamy. Rich, long indulgent finish. Overall - extremely decadent.

Keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Very dark brown, just a bit translucent. I'm getting more ha,elnut than pecan, but there's a definite pancake syrup smell to it. Sweet, sweet taste with loads of maple, hazelnut, cola and coconut. The cola is strong in the finish and aftertaste, which is a bit odd. This is luscious and decadent.
