Very dark brown beer with a thick beige head. Flavour and smell are as advertised: vanilla, borubon, caramel, loads of malt and a lovely warming booziness. Rich and smooth, and another excellent dark beer from Fierce who are currently my absolute favourites for this sort of thing.

I normally don’t get overwrought on Scotch ales but I do appreciate the influence of barrel aging. I obtained this sample in a flight of beers at Taphouse in Copenhagen. Quite black in color with a brown edge and a thin ring of brown around the rim around the glass. A great chocolate smell along with pecans. The taste, chocolate for sure but subdued, a hint of booze, malts, grain and some blackberry.

150ml, on tap at Agenturet Øl og Vinbar. Deep ruby-black body, naked at the surface, dotted spots on the glass. Bourbon nose with wood and grain, lightly roasted. Powerful taste of almond, wood, bread, syrup, and dried fruit on a backbone of bourbon sweetness. Lingering ending, bittersweet, joined by warmth from the alcohol. Decent sipper qualities. (Tromsø 25.06.2019).

Så vidt gjennomskinnelig. Dyp mørkebrun. Skum langs glasset. Nøttearoma. Smaken søt. Nøtter. Bourbon. God.

Keg at MK BG, 21/03/19. Mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is JD and coke, light spice, dried fruits. Taste comprises sweet and sour notes, cola cubes, toffee, brown bread, dried fruits, sugars, bourbon rinse. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced warming boost. Decent enough for the style if lacking some depth.

Keg at the fierce bar. A dark brown coloured pour with a halo if mid tan head. Aroma is sweet, oily vanilla biscuity, oak, smooth, caramel, some jammy fruits. Palale is medium sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation.. Nice.

Mother Kelly's. Keg. Semi opaque dark brown, small tan head. Smooth and fairly light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation, becomes nicely silky. Sweet malts, trace of chocolate. Pleanty of bourbon but it's mellow. Slightly ripe fruits. Mild and well integrated vanilla and coconut. Modest spice. Trace of bitterish wood. Little more spice on the finish. Easy to like and easy to drink.
