Bottle. It's a clear deep reddish brown beer with a decent light beige head leaving some cute lacing. The aroma is bready and spiced, with a distinct caramel maltyness. Some dried fruits too. It's medium bodied and softly carbonated, not too sweet, with very little bitterness. There's dried fruits, bread crust, dried ginger and cardamom, caramel and some toffee in the flavor. Some light fruity sourness shows up in the very end. A quite tasteful and pleasant beer, even though it's well past BB date (200112), or maybe that's the key. 210326

Christmas seasonal. 500 ml bottle, from Det Gode brygg, Sandnes. ABV is 4.7%. Chestnut to mahogany colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brittle, brown bread and Christmas spices. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but is not too sweet. Very moderate hops. Pleasant to drink.

Big bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet mineraly, dark fruits, dark malts, sour grass, minerals, weeds, paper, dusty spices, fruit stones, hay, soil, bark. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish mineraly, weeds, minerals, sour grass, paper, dusty spices, soil, paper, bark, sour dark fruits. Medium bitterness, watery and harsh sour-ish mineraly mouthfeel. Meh!

Fra 0,5 flaske ombord på Fridtjofen, Holmens maritime juleølsmaking 08.12.18: rødbrun kobber med tett skum som varer. Karamell, urter og frsk bærsyre. Hint av engelsk appelsinmarmelade. Fin bitterhet i avslutningen.
