Her finner jeg mye å glede meg over - delikate mørkrøstede malter, knekk/brente mandler, julekrydder (kardemomme, muskat?), mørk lakris, espresso og ristet brød. Lekker bitterhet i avslutningen. Et meget vellykket brygg.

Bottle. It pours a dark brown unclear body under a nice-looking dark beige head. The aroma is malt forward, with roasted malts, burnt hints, brown sugar, some dark dried fruits and molasses, and a light spiced hint. Some herbal and woody notes too, sort of juniper-ish. It's full-bodied, lightly warming and with a soft and smooth carbonation. Quite sweet on the palate, with more focus on darker malts than normally found in a dark bock. Toffee, molasses, prunes, dried figs, some spiced hints and a juniper-like touch as well. Juniper berries and freshly cut branches that is. Lasting sweet finish with licorice, burnt notes and a herbal, bitter and woody touch. Not your typical beer for the Christmas meal, but after that it would do very well. 210525

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Verksgt., Stavanger. ABV is 8%. Dark brown colour, cloudy with yeast floaties. Moderate off-white to beige head. Decent aroma of malts and caramel, hints of rye bread and mild Christmas spices. Nice and rich malty flavour, plenty of caramel but not too sweet, notes of rye bread and mild spices again, moderate bittering hops.
