330 ml bottle, batch #45, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Black colour, large beige head. Pleasant aroma of chocolate / cocoa and mild coffee, a hint of exotic woodwork. Flavour mid between dry and sweet, roast malts, again with notes of chocolate and mild coffee. Moderate hops. Fair enough.

Bottle, at Patrick’s. A black one, more or less, with a nice dense light tan head. The aroma is roasted and rye-ish, with dark heavy caramel sauce, some rye bread and a touch of oranges. It’s full bodied and quite sweet, with lots of dark flavors. Molasses, roasted malts, some coffee and licorice and a heavy caramel flavor with a hint of dark rye bread. Some oranges and pine cones. Lasting finish. Takes a few sips to get used to but it’s a fine one indeed. 160227

On tap @ Patricks. Clear, deep, deep brown, practically black with a nice, lacing beige head. Strong and rich aroma of dark malt and chokolate. Flavor is very smooth, dark, mild roasted malt, some dark fruit and lots of dark chokolate with a hint of toffee. Balanced bitterness and sweet without feeling to sweet. Fine balanced body and long lasting, good aftertaste. Very nice, tasty and dangeriously easy drinkable porter.
