Garborg er ei jærsk mål-øl brygga saman med Mellombels ølstove på Bryne. Arne Garborg budde ei tid i Tyskland, og fleire av verka hans vart omsette til tysk. Tyskarane var gjestfrie, og han fekk mange venner blant dei. Maten var god; det same var ølet! «Skulle han ein gong verkeleggjera sin store draum om å bli feit, så måtte det bli her, om han berre ikkje var så plaga av denne skrivesjuka.» Garborg likte godt eit glas øl til maten - når han fekk lov av kona Hulda. Om han skulle få sitt eige øl nå måtte det bli ein Altbier, som betyr at ølet er brygga på gamle metodar. Det var slik øl vart brygga på Garborg si tid. Med innslag av mørke malttypar og ein lettare humleprofil passar dette ølet godt til mat: Nett slik diktaren likte det!

Tap @ Bakgården Både &. Unclear orange golden body with a small off-white head. Mild aroma with malt and a little hint of toffee. Flavor is mostly malty, quite smooth, some fruitiness in general and low bitterness. Medium body and aftertaste. Drinkable but this is not really my favorite style.

Bottled (from Vinmonopolet Kirkenes). Orange colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, toffeeish and mild wooden notes and quite metlalic. Flavour is fruity, floral and some toffee and mild tartness and very yeasty.

On tap at Både&. An unclear orange cookies beer with a foamy off-white head. Fruity, malt driven aroma, caramel, bread, close to oxidation, hints of piney hops and some plum in the aroma. It's full to medium bodied and soft on the palate, with a light bitterness. Caramel, bread, ripe fruit, pine cone notes and a light sweetness in the flavor. Even a sourish touch. Long finish. Drinkable, for sure, nothing special going on. 180808
