From bottle at MB2 10.04.23. Clear mahogany. Foamy beige head. Fruity aroma and taste of sweet medium dark malt, figs and syrup. Good drinkability. A bit too carbonated for the style.

Klar kobberbrun med beige skum. Lukter karamellmalt og en anelse krydder. Fruktig i smak. Medium fylde.

7-4-7-3-14 Bottle, #159, 20 months before bbd. Pours slightly hazy dark golden, with a big creamy off white head. Aroma is earthy yeast and malts with bread, toffee and heather, as well as herbal hops with citrusy notes. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is hearbal hops with leaves and citrus, as well as malts with bread, nuts and toffee. Earthy herbal notes in the finish. Surprisingly decent.

170ml draught at Ølhallen. A patchy beige head leaving upper part lacing. Deep copper coloured body. Moderate smell of nuts and pine. Malt-fruity flavours of mild marmalade, biscuit, and caramel. Mid-dry malt-driven finish. Fine depth. Quite pleasing. (Tromsø 27.03.2018). --- Beer merged from original tick of Kvernknurr ESB Spesial on 05 Nov 2007 at 08:02 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 4.5. Original review text: Two 330 bottles; one (batch 1) was served very chilled in a Duvel glass at Le Mirage in Tromsø, the other one (batch 2) was bought at Vinmonopolet and shared with friends at home. Foggy, dark amber body with a filmy layer. Fresh, but vague aroma of tart fruits. Acidulous flavour of bitter green apples and lemon mixed with yeast. Well bodied, but one-dimensional. And I have never had an ESB like this before (02.11 and 03.11.2007).

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Drukket på Bergstua 14 Sep 17. Amber. Lavt skum. Litt lacing. God maltaroma. Smaken litt karamell. Behagelig. Blir tørr etter hvert. En god ESB. Hyggelig å få den i en god utgave. Jeg var ikke heldig med 2008-versjonen. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kvernknurr ESB Spesial on 30 Jan 2008 at 13:59 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 1 | Flavor - 1 | Texture - 2 | Overall - 0.5. Original review text: Bottle 0,33l. Batch 2. Golden brown colored. A decent off white creamy head. Good looking. Unclear last pour. Did not smell good! Vinegar. Must be off. KI=0
