Frydenlund Fatøl is a Vienna style bottom-fermented beer with a deep golden colour. The aroma is mild and dominated by hay, bread and straw from malt. The aroma also holds a light yeast fruitiness and a pleasantly hoppy aroma. The flavour is rich with a round malty sweetness and well balanced against a moderate bitterness.

Canned (from Vinmonopolet, Kirkenes). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is some ciacetyl, mild herbs, sweet malts and some earthy notes. Flavour is very similar, with mild salty notes as well.

Can. A clear, golden colored beer with a small white head. Some lacing. Quite fruity-sweetish aroma, with grains, grass, notes of metal, some pear drops and a light caramel-bready touch. It’s full bodied, with a pleasant carbonation level. A bit sweetish on the palate I think, and not enough bitterness to wash it away. Caramel malts, bread, grass, some pear and pine cones and a touch of white sugar in the flavor. Sort of metallic toward the finish. Well... not really my preferred style, and by far the best of the style, but it’s quite decent anyway. Not that I’m gonna repeat it, but at least it ain’t no drainpour. 170425

Clear deep golden color with a fine white head. Ok lacing. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and a fine carbonation level. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness, Wort malty and herbal hoppy flavor. Nothing bad, nothing special either. Plain decent lager beer.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.4%. Golden to deep golden colour, thin white head. Slightly sweetish aroma, notes of dust, grain and cooked vegetables. Rather sweet flavour, moderate hops, disappointing but not undrinkable.
