Well stored bottle. Clear dark amber body with a nice, dense, beige head. Aroma has caramel malt, dry fruit and pleasant oxidation. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit, vanilla, not much Christmas spices left after cellaring but balanced bitterness. Fine body and nice aftertaste. Relatively straight forward barley wine with a moderate hint of spices, very smooth and tasty.

På Bryggerifestivalen i Trondheim 6 Aug 16. Mørk amber. Lavt skum med litt farge. Forsiktig sherryaroma. Smaken kirsebær & mandler. Lett tørr etter hvert. Alkoholen merkes ikke. Veldig bra!

25.01.2016, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet boozy, caramel malts, alcohol, grass, weeds, minerals, raisins, metal tank, dark sugar, bark. Taste is slightly sweet mineraly, sugar, caramel malts, weeds, metal tank, soil, alcohol, burnt caramel, dried dark fruits, bark, harsh grass. Medium bitterness, harsh boozy mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea. At least it needs years in the cellar...

500ml bottles, brygg nr. 243, shared with friends. Fawn-coloured head to a cloudy dark brown body with a tint of red. Earth, caramel and raisin on the nose. Toffee flavours joined by vanilla and Christmas spices. Mid-sweet malty ending with warming alcohol. Full bodied. Lovely Yuletide sipper, quite heavy to drink (Juleølaften, Tromsø 04.12.2015).

Bottle. A deep amber colored beer, lightly hazy, and with a dense, beige head. Some lacing. The aroma is a bit alcoholic, with dried fruits, toffee, pine cones, grass and a faint acetone hint. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming on the palate, with flavors of caramel and toffee, dried fruits like raisins and prunes and a nice bitterness. Lasting finish. A nice one, but I guess it will improve by cellaring. 151114

Bottle 500ml @ Geokkjer
Pours dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruits, caramel and lots of alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, caramel, malty, dried fruity and boozy finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Way to fresh an boozy needs a year of aging more...
