Cask at the Corn Exchange (JDW), Leicester. Mid-brown and a little translucent with a scummy off-white head. Aroma of dark malts, some fruits. Sweet taste, a little bit of fruity sourness. Flat, watery body. Not great.

Cask at Creaky Floorboard, Derby Nose is a heady concoction of fruits and malts. Pours a very dark red with a small beige head. Very little carbonation. In the mouth there are plums and raspberries with just a hint of chocolate. A generally fruity finish. Not a typical mild, but strong and sweet. Very much like Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby.

Oldham Beer Festival 2017. Black-brown and overly sweet for a mild, but it’s higher than usual strength for this style accounts for this.

Cask, half, shared with Finn at Thomas Leaper (JDW) . Deep rosewood coloured body. Fawn-coloured head. Spotty lacing down the glass. Mixed aromas of leafy hos and roasted dark malts. Flavour of dark fruits, woody chocolate, and dark berries. Roasted bitter ending. Fine bodied. Tasty and pleasing (Derby 17.02.2016).

Fra fat på Thomas Leaper i Derby 17 Feb 16. Ultramørk rubinrød. Eg. svart. Lavt mokkafarget tett skum. Tett tynn lacing. God aroma av mørke plommer & sherry. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken har preg av nøtter. Blir litt syrlig etter hvert.
